So avoid keeping cucumber in fridge. Instead of keeping cucumbers in the fridge, store them in a common place away from direct sunlight.
According to experts, cucumbers should also not be placed near fruits such as avocados, tomatoes or watermelons. This is because such fruits release ethylene gas as they ripen and exposure to that gas can cause cucumbers to turn yellow quickly. Although this gas is not harmful, it makes fruits or vegetables cook faster.
2. Tomato
According to experts, tomatoes should always be stored at room temperature. Keeping them in the refrigerator affects the taste, texture and aroma of tomatoes, so keep tomatoes in a cool, dark place away from sunlight. The warm rays coming from the window accelerate the ripening process of tomatoes. Tomatoes kept outside the fridge are likely to last a week longer than tomatoes kept in the fridge.
3. Onion
According to the National Onion Association (NOA), onions should be stored in a cool, dry, dark and well-ventilated room. This is because onions absorb moisture easily. Onions may start to sprout or rot if the temperature or humidity is too high . Onions can last more than two months if kept at cool room temperature .
4. Potatoes
It is considered best to store potatoes in the open in a basket. Avoid keeping it in the fridge. The cold temperature changes the starchy complex carbohydrates found in raw potatoes and sweetens the potato's flavor when cooked. So avoid keeping it in the fridge. 5. Garlic
