Reliance Jio has recently announced the service of Postpaid Plus and its plans range from Rs 399 to Rs 14.99. These plans offer subscribers unlimited Talktime benefits as well as data rollover and family add-on SIM facility. However, according to TRAI's website, Geo users who subscribe to these postpaid plans will also have to make a security deposit. Users will have to deposit from Rs 500 to Rs 1800 as a security deposit.

Reliance Jio introduced five postpaid plus plans last month, including in-flight connectivity packs and international roaming options. According to TRAI's website, the new regulatory filing states that users who subscribe to Geo Postpaid Plus will have to deposit a fixed amount as a security deposit. However, there is no mention of such a security deposit on Reliance Jio's website and it is also written in small letters on TRAI's site.

How much security on which plan?

According to the details, subscribers of Rs 3,99 postpaid plan will have to deposit Rs 500 security, users who take the Rs 599 plan will have to deposit Rs 750 security, those who take the Rs 799 plan will have to deposit Rs 100 security, and customers who recharge from Rs 999 will have to deposit Rs 1200 security. Users with the highest premium of Rs 14.99 will have to pay a maximum security deposit of Rs 1,800. It is clear that the security deposited with these plans has nothing to do with the benefits available to the users.

In addition to voice calls and data benefits, Geo Postpaid Plus users will also get a subscription to many OTT platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Disney + Hotstar VIP.
