Google has removed 17 apps from its app platform. This app was found infected with malware called Joker.
A California-based security firm recently warned Google about the app. It is worth mentioning that Joker malware is not new and even before that, it uses the data of app users. Earlier, Google also removed some apps with Joker malware.
However, these apps work as spyware. I.e. collects data from smartphones. It includes SMS messages, contact lists, and device information.
Zscaler Security said: "These spyware apps were designed to steal data such as messages, contact lists, device information. Not only that but these apps also sign-up to the wireless application protocol .WAP service without telling the users.
However, by the time Google removed the app from its Play Store, it had been downloaded 1.20 lakh times. We're giving you a list of apps that have been removed.
If you also have this app installed on your phone, delete it immediately. Because these are apps that are utility-based and people install them for small tasks of mobile.
