Atul Tiwari / Ahmedabad: Examinations have been held late this year due to the Koro epidemic. The effect of this has also been seen in the new academic session. Now Gujarat Technological University has announced to conduct the examinations of Semester 3, 5, and 7 in offline mode from 1st December to 14th December. However, with this announcement, GTU has decided to postpone the controversial Semester-3 exams due to the decision to take the Semester 3 exams of Engineering offline. However, it has now been announced that the exam will be held in January.
The decision to hold the examination was being opposed by some administrators as the process for admission in Semester-3 of Degree Engineering is underway for students currently seeking admission in Degree Engineering from Diploma. GTU has decided to take the Engineering Semester 3 exam in January after completing the admission process instead of December.
GTU Engineering Semester 3 exam will be held in the month of January. The examination has been postponed due to the admission process in Degree Engineering Semester 3. Earlier, it was decided to take the Semester 3 examination from December 1. Now the examination will be held after completing the admission process of the students who want to get admission in degree from the diploma. The examination will be conducted in offline mode at all taluka centers.
It may be mentioned that students who have passed the final year examination of Diploma Engineering if they want to get admission in Degree Engineering, they are given direct admission from 3 semesters of Degree Engineering. As the admission process is currently underway, the examination of Semester 3 students is not possible in the month of December. However, after general protests, the matter came to GTU's notice and it was announced that the examination would be held in January. At the same time, only 3 lakh students of Semester 5 and 7 will be examined in offline mode by GTU across the state from December 1.
GTU Chancellor Naveen Sethe said that for this, examination centers will be organized at all taluka level by keeping examination centers in compliance with the guideline of Covid 19 and the examination of Semester 3 of Engineering will be held in the month of January.
