Anthony Blinken has been chosen as Secretary of State. Former Secretary of State John Kerry has been named the president's special envoy for climate change. Kerry will be the first official to hold the post in the National Security Council.

Joe Biden, who won a landslide victory in the recent US presidential election, has also announced his new team. On Monday he announced the names of people who are going to accompany him in the new government. Also included are longtime foreign policy advisers Anthony Blinken and John Kerry. Most of the names in Biden's new squad have been part of Barack Obama's team.
Blinken Secretary of State
Anthony Blinken has been chosen as Secretary of State. Former Secretary of State John Kerry has been named the president's special envoy for climate change. Kerry will be the first official to hold the post in the National Security Council.
Will represent at the UN
Lawyer Alejandro Mayorkas has been named Secretary of Homeland Security. He has served as Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security during the Obama-Biden era. Former CIA deputy director Avril Haines has been named director of national intelligence. Avril has long held various positions for Biden. Biden has appointed Jack Sullivan as a national advisor. While Thomas-Greenfield will represent the United States at the United Nations.

"We have no time to worry when it comes to national security and foreign policy," Biden said in announcing his team. Everyone on my team is experienced and knows how to work in a crisis situation. We will serve all the people of America and work towards a better, just, and united nation. It is worth noting that although Biden announced his squad, Senate approval is required.
