Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama has made an important statement on the issue of opening schools in the state after Diwali. Bhupendrasinh Chudasama said that schools will open in Gujarat from November 23. Classes from standard 9 to 12 will be started as per SOP. Colleges have also been announced to start teaching from November 23.

The Education Minister said that the classes of Std. 9 to 12 will be started as per SOP. Secondary, higher secondary, schools and colleges will start after Diwali, but institutions will have to get the written consent of the parents. Student attendance will not be considered compulsory. Colleges will also start teaching from November 23. Educational work will start in phases. The first medical, paramedical class will start in the college. Final year classes will be started at the graduation level. In colleges and schools, the principal has to follow the guideline. Students will be given a form for approval.

It may be mentioned here that the government wants to keep the academic session longer after Diwali. Under normal circumstances, the first session starts in the month of June and lasts for 105 days. This session ends with a 21-day Diwali vacation, but the second session will be 150 to 155 days, as the time wasted in the next session can be made up. The schools will open at the end of November, which means that the next five months will mean the end of May.

The government is preparing to invite students from Std 9 to Std 12 to school after Diwali vacation. This year, Diwali vacation in Gujarat schools has been held two weeks early from October 29 to November 18.

It is to be noted here that the Gujarat government is to announce the decision today to start school and college after Diwali. After the cabinet meeting, Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama announced the reopening of schools after Diwali. A core committee meeting was held at the Chief Minister's residence yesterday (Tuesday) to discuss the issues that were to be discussed in today's cabinet meeting. Information will also be given about the SOP prepared by the Department of Education.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers chaired by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has decided the importance of resuming education in secondary and higher secondary schools and colleges in the state after Diwali. Education Minister Bhupendra Singh Chudasama and Minister of State Vibhavari Bahan Dave gave details of the decision. He said that school-college-educational institutions in the country, including Gujarat, had been shut down since March with the intention of preventing the spread of Coronavirus Covid-19. Under the guidance of the Chief Minister, the Department of Education has also successfully implemented an online learning system to ensure that the academic year and future of the students is not ruined.

Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, public life, economic and industrial activities in the state have not stopped in the various phases of lockdown and now unlock-1. Online education has ensured that school-college children meet students at home. Now the state government of Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has decided to resume educational work in schools and colleges in the state in phases in compliance with the guidelines and guidelines of the Government of India in this Unlock-5.

Before coming to a final conclusion of this decision, the government has made a final decision by holding a round of meetings with various stakeholders like the education department, school-college, university administrators-educators. The decision was approved at a cabinet meeting chaired by the chief minister today.

After Diwali, i.e. from November 23, the Cabinet has decided to start teaching in secondary-higher secondary and college-universities in the state. From Monday 23rd November, the classes of Std-9 to 12 of the state will be started with full compliance with the SOP guidelines of the Government of India.

Academic work will also start in colleges from November 23.

Postgraduate, medical, and paramedical classes will start in the first phase in colleges and universities. As well as for undergraduate level only final year classes will be started.

Final year and I.T.I. And polytechnic colleges will also be functioning on 26th November.

Before starting school-colleges, each campus will have to ensure hygiene facilities, checking of students with thermal guns, sanitizer, and soap arrangements for hand washing.

Not only is social distance maintained in classrooms and school-college campuses, but masks are also mandatory.

It is also important to ensure that medical services are available within close proximity to the school-college.

Following the SOP of the Government of India, the online education system provided by the schools and colleges in the state will be continued.

This SOP will be equally applicable to all Government, Grant-in-Aid and Self Finance Schools, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Social Justice, and Empowerment Department as well as Tribal Development Department schools of all the boards in the state.

From November 23, classes of Std-9 to 12 schools as well as PG, Medical-Paramedical, and undergraduate final year classes will start in the state. The government will announce later to take appropriate decisions in time to start the academic work of the remaining classes-standards.

Student attendance at school is not mandatory.

Institutions will also have to get the written consent of the student's parents or guardians to come to the school.

Students will also be asked to bring their own masks, water bottles, books, snacks, etc. from home and not to interact with other students.

According to the revised seating arrangement in the classroom, there should be a distance of at least 3 feet between the two students.

The principal-principal is to arrange for the students to come in stages so that there is no overcrowding in the school-college campus.

For this purpose, the state government has asked to make arrangements for Odd-Even i.e. three days in a week for Std.

It is also suggested that students come to school on the scheduled days of the week and do homework assignments on the remaining days.

Mass Prayer - It is also advised not to play sports or any other group activity on the field.

Parents will be encouraged to use their personal transportation to get the child to and from school.

Students who use public transport will also be given appropriate precautionary guidance from the school.
