Jharkhand or Zaverchand Kalidas Meghani (28 August 1896 – 9 March 1947) was an Indian artist, author, social reformer, and political dissident. He is a notable name in the field of Gujarati writing. He was brought into the world in Chotila where the Government College has been renamed for this artistic as Raashtreeya Shaayar Zaverchand Meghani College, Chotila.
Mahatma Gandhi suddenly gave him the title of Raashtreeya Shaayar (National Poet).[2] Besides this, he got numerous honors like Rajkot Suvarna chandarak and Mahida Paaritoshik in writing. He created in excess of 100 books.
His first book was an interpretation work of Rabindra Nath Tagor called Kathaa-u-Kaahinee named Kurbani Ni Katha (Stories of suffering) which was first distributed in 1922. He contributed broadly to Gujarati society writing. He went from one town to another looking for society legends and distributed them in different volumes of Saurashtra Ni Rasdhar.[3] He was additionally the Editor of the Janmabhoomi bunch (which is being distributed to date from Rajkot).

An example of his assortment of classic stories from Saurashtra has as of late been distributed in English, with the interpretation done by his child Vinod Meghani. The three volumes distributed so far are named A Noble Heritage, A Shade Crimson, and The Ruby Shattered.[4]
