New Delhi: Genesis, the luxury vehicle wing of South Korean car giant Hyundai Motor, has launched the design of its first electric SUV. Genesis may officially launch the car by the end of the year. The GV60 Genesis is the first electric car and is based on the Global Electric Modular Platform, used in the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6 electric vehicles. The GV60 will be the third SUV after the GV80 and GV70 models.
The Genesis GV60 features an 800V electrical architecture that supports 350W ultra fast charging. The car supports a single or dual-motor power package with a variety of battery shapes. The GV60 will be placed below the GV70 and GV80 in the Genesis SUV lineup. And the G80 sedan will be the second electric car after the electric version.
Look and design -
In terms of design, the Genesis GV60 outperforms all signature design elements. It has both a shield-shaped front grille and two-signature headlamps, with a newer version of the company logo. Genesis says the larger grille is intended to emphasize dynamic performance and keep high voltage batteries cool. It also has a single panel shell hood.
Rear look-
The rear of the GV60 electric SUV has a fixed wing at the end of the roofline so that the car looks like a coupe. The car's long clamshell hood and low ride height give it the look of a coupe style luxury crossover utility vehicle. The digital side mirror in it projects the image on 2 screens using a camera mounted outside. A crystal sphere controls its automatic transmission. Genesis says it also has built-in lights, which continue even when the car is off.
Battery and power-
Genesis has not yet released the technical details of the GV60. However the Ioniq 5 and EV6 are likely to be compatible. This means that the car can be launched with 58kWh and 77.8kWh batteries. So that this electric SUV will give a range of more than 480 kilometers. Rear-wheel-drive Sinhala engine models are also expected to be introduced with 167 HP and 214 HP. While the 2 engine, 4 wheel drive model will generate power of 301 HP.
