From October 1, old checkbooks of Allahabad Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC) and United Bank of India (UBI) will become obsolete. So if you do not want to have any problems going forward, get a new checkbook from the bank as soon as possible.
UBI and OBC merged into PNB
OBC and UBI have been merged with Punjab National Bank (PNB). Now everything from the customer to the branch of both the banks belongs to PNB. PNB says that the current checkbook of OBC and UBI will be closed from October 1. So if you have an old checkbook of these banks, apply for a new checkbook so that you do not have any problem in going ahead with the transaction.
