New Delhi: After a huge success with the mini electric car, which broke the record for the second best-selling EV in 2020 with 119,255 units, now Chinese carmaker Wooling Hongguang has come up with a new car. It has decided to call it Nano, the name used by Indian Tata Motors for its smallest production car ever.

The Wooling Nano will be the smallest electric car to go into production only. According to reports, it could also be the cheapest electric car in the world. According to CarNewsChina, the Wuling Nano EV will sell for 20,000 yuan (approximately Rs 2.30 lakh). This means that the Nano EV can actually cost less than the Maruti Alto. If this is true, the Nano will definitely be cheaper than the best-selling compact electric car Wooling Hongguang Mini EV in China.

What's special:

Wuling Hong Guang, part of the largest SAIC-GM-Wuling group of car manufacturers in the world's largest EV market, unveiled the new electric car Nano EV at the 2021 Tianjin International Auto Show. This model looks like an alternative version of the Baojun E200, which is also made by Wooling. Designed for urban use, the Nano EV has only two seats, and a turning radius of less than four meters.

Features:

The Nano EV is equipped with a 33ps electric motor and can generate a maximum torque of 85Nm. It can also go at a speed of 100 km per hour. The Nano EV will have an IP67-certified lithium-ion battery under the seat with a capacity of 28 kWh. The battery gives this small electric car a range of 305 km on a single charge. According to Wooling, it takes 13.5 hours to fully recharge the battery using a regular 220-volt home socket. It also comes with a 6.6 kW AC charger option that can recharge the EV in just 4.5 hours.
