The Department of Telecom has announced a new order for SIM card users. If only one user owns 6 connections across the country, including Jammu and Kashmir, Assam and North East, he will have to get his SIM verified. If the verification is not done, it is ordered to disconnect the SIM card.

If the customer does not verify his SIM card, it will be blocked within 60 days. International roaming users, sick and disabled users are given an extra time limit of 30 days.
Strictness to investigate criminal incidents
The telecom department has taken this decision to investigate the activities including financial crimes, catastrophic calls and fraud. The government has also ordered companies to remove all unused mobile numbers from the database.
KYC required for SIM
