BCCI has announced that former Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni will join Team India as a mentor in the Asia Cup and T20 World Cup.

BCCI wants to use Dhoni's experience

Mahendra Singh Dhoni was the captain of India's first T20 World Cup team. He made his debut against South Africa in the year 2006. The following year he was selected as the captain for the T20 World Cup. India won the World Cup in South Africa. It is believed that he may have been selected for this role given his experience in formulating strategies for limited overs cricket. Dhoni knows how to win important ICC tournaments.
