One way to celebrate the glorious 75th year of independence is to visit as many national monuments as possible. And this can be done for free from August 5-15 as part of the government's Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav) campaign, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism has announced that all protected under the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) Entry to the monuments will be completely free.

The Union Culture Ministry on Wednesday announced that all monuments and sites protected by the Archaeological Survey of India across the country will have free entry from August 5 to 15. This is being done as part of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (Nectar Festival of Independence)' to commemorate 75 years of India's independence.


Union Culture Minister G Kishan Reddy tweeted, 'As part of the 'Amrit Mahotsav (Amrit Festival)' and 75th Independence Day (75th Independence Day) celebrations, ASI has closed all its protected monuments / monuments across the country from August 5 to 15. The sites have free entry for the visitors/tourists.


No fee will be charged for ticketed ASI protected monuments as well as archaeological site museums. This is not only for domestic tourists but also for visitors from all over the world.


There are a total of 3,693 monuments under the supervision of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). Of these, 116 stamped monuments and 32 museums are under the protection of ASI. There are many monuments including Taj Mahal, Humayun's Tomb, Safdarjung Tomb, Tughlakabad Fort, Purana Qila, Red Fort, Jantar Mantar, Konark Sun Temple, Golconda Fort, Ajanta and Ellora Caves, Charminar, Shaniwar Wada. Monuments which are also very popular tourist attractions.


The Ministry of Culture is organizing a special celebration of the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, which is being celebrated to commemorate 75 years of Independence. In this episode, the Ministry of Culture has started the Tiranga Mahotsav (Tiranga Festival) campaign. Under which a target has been fixed to hoist the tricolor in every house. The campaign was launched by Union Home Minister Amit Shah at an event organized in New Delhi. On this occasion, Home Minister Amit Shah also honored the family members of freedom fighter Pingali Venkaiah who designed the tricolor.

Under the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign in Gujarat, a total of 1 crore tricolors will be hoisted in homes in urban and rural areas. Apart from this, the tricolor will also be hoisted in all government offices. The campaign will run from August 13 to 15 and will be celebrated at various places across the country.
