BCCI decision with Africa series win, rest Kohli-Rahul in third T20, will now appear directly in World Cup


Virat Kohli likely to be rested for third India-South Africa T20I: Sources

In the third T20 match against South Africa, BCCI has made a big change as Kohli and Rahul have been rested.

Currently, T20 series is going on between India and South Africa. India have won the first two T20s and clinched the series with one final T20 to go. Meanwhile, BCCI has made a big change in the last match. Virat Kohli and vice-captain KL Rahul have been rested for the third T20 against South Africa. 

Kohli rested due to workload

A senior BCCI official said on condition of anonymity that Kohli has been rested for the third T20 considering his workload and management. Kohli needed a rest to perform well in the upcoming T20 World Cup and to maintain his form, so he has been rested for the third match. 


Kohli and Rahul will be seen directly in the 

T20 World Cup. This is the last series of Team India before the T20 World Cup, the last match of which is to be played on October 4. That means now the fans will get to see Virat Kohli, KL Rahul directly in the field against Pakistan on October 23.

Shreyas Iyer has  been included in the team after resting

Virat Kohli and KL Rahul. That means the playing XI of Team India can be seen in the third T20 match. The last T20 match of the series between the two teams will be played in The Indore.

match is against Pakistan on October 23. However, before that, The Team India also has to play a warm-up matches, which will be against Australia and New Zealand.
