How is the selection of IAS-IPS done?

After the result of UPSC Mains Exam, the candidate has to fill a Detailed Application Form (DAF). On the basis of which the personality test is done. Questions are asked during the interview based on the information filled in the form. The merit list (civil services) is prepared by combining the number obtained in the interview and the All India rank is prepared on its basis. Ranking of different categories (General SC, ST, OBC, EWS) is prepared. On the basis of this ranking, the rank of IAS, IPS or IFS is given. Top rankers get IAS, but many times top rankers prefer IPS or IRS, lower rankers can also get IAS posts. Those who rank after that get IPS and IFS posts.


This village is called the factory of IAS.

The name of this excellent village in India is Madhopatti. It is in Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh. An officer comes from almost every house in this village. If one clears the country's toughest exam, the UPSC exam, one is immediately in the headlines in the surrounding area but this village has produced many great officers to the country. Stories of this village are heard all over the world. One person from almost every house in the village becomes an officer.


How did it start?


Dr. Induprakash became IAS for the first time in the year 1952 from Madhopatti village. He secured second rank in UPSC. Dr. Induprakash has been the ambassador of many countries including France. After Dr. Induprakash, his four brothers became IAS officers. In the year 1955, Vinay Kumar Singh secured 13th rank in the IAS examination. He has been the Chief Secretary of Bihar. In the year 1964, Chhatrasal Singh passed the IAS examination. He has been the Chief Secretary of Tamil Nadu. Ajay Singh also became IAS in the year 1964 itself. Shashikant Singh became an IAS officer in the year 1968. In the year 2002 Dr. Induprakash's son Yashaswi became IAS with 31st rank.


47 people of the village Officer:


According to media reports, a family of 75 people lives in this village. 47 people of Madhopatti village are IAS and IPS officers. Apart from UPSC, total 51 people are serving in major posts including village residents working in major posts. Many people from this village are also working in ISRO, Bhabha Atomic Research Center and World Bank. Reports quoting villagers indicate that most of the people working in high positions have no connection with the village.


Women are also becoming officers:


Not only men from Madhopatti village have become officers, but daughters and daughters-in-law here are also hoisting the country's flag. Asha Singh in 1980, Usha Singh in 1982 and Indu Singh in 1983 became officers from the village. Sarita Singh, wife of Amitabh Singh of the village, also became an IPS officer.

A report said that since the year 2019, no IAS or IPS officer has been made from Madhopatti village. A person associated with the education sector said that after becoming an officer, everyone was so busy in fulfilling the responsibility of their work that they did not look back at the village.
